Track season ended for me last week, and I'd say it was a pretty good season for me, considering i was injured all season long. I run the 4x100, the 100, and 200. The first meet here in Pea Ridge was a success for me individually. There was only like 5 teams there, and in the 4x1 we got 2nd place. I was the second leg of it, and I had been injured for the 4 weeks before the meet, so I didn't have much practice. When I got back, I ran at the meet here and got third in the 200m and the team got second in the 4x100m. I felt like I have done better. All season I battled through shin splints, but i progressed a lot in my racing. My 200 time dropped over a second and by the end of the season I was running my best times ever with shin splints. I'd say I had a really good individual season. At the Spring banquet a couple of nights ago, I won the most outstanding sprinter award. All in all I am proud of myself.

One thing I really wish we had here in Pea Ridge, is a wrestling team. I have never wrestled outside of playing around in my life, but i would love to do it as a sport. My dad and uncle were wrestlers in high school, and I always remember hearing of a story about a guy who they wrestled with that went to the marines, and he said that a "Glenn McMinn" wrestling practice was harder than marine's training. Glenn Mcminn was my dad and uncles coach. He was an NCAA champion wrestler. That's the best you can get besides winning an olympic medal. Hearing these stories makes me wish I could "keep the tradition alive" or whatever you call it. Wrestling involves a lot of hard training. You have to make weight before you can wrestle, and if you are an ounce over, you can't wrestle. This is something I can do well. I can gain 4 pounds in a day by eating a lot, or I can lose weight quickly by cutting calories, and running a lot. I enjoy the "cutting" and "bulking" as weight lifters, and athletes call it. Wrestling involves stamina, and quick explosive movement. I am quick, and can be powerful. My stamina is not the best due to me being a sprinter, but it wouldn't be hard for me to get into shape. Wrestling is an all out fight pretty much, and it takes all you have. I love things like this, and my competitiveness would help me out in this sport a lot.
My favorite sports team, is the Los Angeles Lakers. I quit playing basketball last year, because I was not very good at it, but I still love the sport. My favorite athlete, of course is Kobe Bryant. Kobe has always been my favorite because he is not like any other player in the NBA, he is a different person. Players like him are very sparse nowadays, because they get caught up in the fame and fortune, and care too much about the public eye. Kobe is always dedicated to the game. In my opinion he is the hardest working player in the game. He ruptured his achilles tendon last season, and he came back for 6 games this season after a career threatening injury. He is 35 years old, and last season he had one of the best seasons of his career. He did all this with one of the worst teams he has Played on in his career. I believe he wi come back in full form. One happy memory I have came back during football season. It was in our free time before the Prairie Grove game. We all went to Gage's house before we had to be back before we had to leave. While we were there, I had reminded Austin and Tackett how they said that they were going to box each other at the beginning of the year. Well we ended up getting the gloves, and they boxed. No one was hurt, and it lasted probably less than a minute. It was probably one of the funniest things I've seen in a while! Definitely a highlight if football season! Football season brought so many crazy fun memories, and I can't wait to make more next year! When I was in eighth grade I went on a turkey hunt with my grandfather, my uncle, and my cousin. I wasn't originally supposed to go on the trip, but at the last minute I got to go. My cousin was clearly the one that was gonna get to shoot the turkey if it came, since he was decked out in Camo, and had a 20 gauge shotgun versus my camp shirt, jeans and 4-10 gauge shotgun. We woke up around 4:30 to go out into the blind. We set up the decoys, and we were ready to roll. About 30 minutes after sunrise my cousin and uncle left the blind to go walk around. I was left with my grandpa who was falling asleep, and clearly not that interested in the hunt. After what felt like hours of just sitting, and listening to the gobbles way off in the distance, my uncle and cousin returned to the blind. This time they decided to let me go with them on their walk. My uncle was weary of letting me go because I wasn't covered from head to toe in camouflage. He decided I could go but I had to leave my shotgun in the blind with my grandpa because this "wasn't my hunt". We walk to a bluff not too far away, and call for turkey's. We could hear them all morning, but I hadn't seen any. They had saw some, but they were not close enough to shoot at. After sitting and going back in forth with the turkey's, we hear what sounds like walking in the leaves. Knowing that squirrels are all over the place, none of us looked to see what the noise was. As we are sitting there we hear a cluck. This time it wasn't in the distance. It was right behind us. My cousin and I turned around slowly to see a hen standing looking at us only a few feet from us! We weren't allowed to kill a hen, but this was just as good as killing one! Being that close to a wild animal was one of the most exciting experiences of my life. Mir is a story I will be able to tell my whole life. I am going to review the song Man on the moon by Kid Cudi. In this song Kid cudi sings about how he is unique. Since he was a kid he was noticibaly different from his peers. He says that even his mom though he was "different". I can relate to this song because I consider myself a very unique person. I am not like a lot of people I am around. I like the lyrics of the song. Some of them are a little weird in my opinion, but that's why this song reflects Kid Cudi. The beat is really good. It is very unique and gives you a happy vibe like most of Kid Cudi's songs. It has high pitched instrumentals, and a guitar strum throughout the song. I would rate this as one of my favorite songs because it reflects my personality well. I'm gonna write about myself for this post. I'm 16 years old, and I feel like I'm a pretty unique guy. My best friends are Zach Harris, Dakota Russell, Josh Ford, Gage Cawthon, and Seth Brumley. I play football, and run track. I like to workout and lift weights. In my free time I listen to a lot of music. I really like Odd Future music, Kid Cudi, and a lot of other rap artists. I also listen to some alternative, and r&b. I used to play basketball, but I still love watching it. My favorite sports team is the Los Angeles Lakers, and my favorite athlete of all time is Kobe Bryant. He is almost like a role model of mine. I look up to his competitiveness and his drive for greatness. Someday I hope to see a Lakers game in person. When I graduate, I hope to move to Arizona and go to college at Arizona State University. I'm from Arizona and most of my family is out there. My sister goes to school at Northern Arizona University. I live with my dad, and it's just me and him, so there's a lot of responsibility on me. I have a pretty good life, and I hope it stays that way. I spent a week of my Christmas break in Arkansas. I received most of my gifts before Christmas, because I left for Arizona the day after Christmas. Out of all of of my gifts, my Xbox One was my favorite. I have played it so much since I've gotten it. I have Battle Field 4, Ryse: son of Rome, and Madden 25. I stayed up pretty late on the couple of nights I was able to play it. The morning after Christmas we started to make our way to Arizona. My sister is going to college in Flagstaff, so we were going to move her out there. After a whole day of riding in the back seat of a car that was pretty much made for two seats, we stopped in Amarillo, Texas for the night. After another full day of riding, we finally arrived in the booming metropolis of Winslow, Arizona. My dads mom and brother live in Winslow, so we stayed there for the length of our trip. While there I spent s lot of time talking to my family. My grandmother and her whole family is hispanic, and my step-Grandfather is African American, so I get to experience a lot of different cultures in one visit. My grandma fixed a lot of Mexican food, so I definitely got my fair share of food. One of the days I was there we spent the day in Flagstaff with my uncle. It is quite entertaining to hear about my fathers past, especially his teen years. My uncle always tells me about him, because my dad hardly ever talks about his past! Saying goodbye to my sister was really difficult, because she was like a mother figure to me, because I stopped living with my mom a few years ago. We had to drive dow to Phoenix to fly home, and that was a nice drive, because it's a lot of different sceneary from Arkansas. I hope that when i graduate I can go to college at Arizona State, because I love it out there!
